Description

The Hibiscus species are known for their large, showy flowers and can be found in a variety of different vibrant colors, ranging from white to pink, red, orange, peach, yellow and purple and in certain species the color changes with age.

Since I live in Florida, and you can find the Hibiscus flower everywhere, I am very excited to introduce this very colorful and cheerful design into the collection.

General Information: Stitched using 2 thread of floss over 2 threads of fabric. A total of 15 colors of Dinky-Dyes hand-dyed silk floss, 4 colors of Mill Hill Beads, and 1 color of Sullivans floss were used in the model.

NOTE: Due to the number of Dinky-Dyes Silk Floss colors required for this design, I have provided Sullivans/DMC/and Anchor comparable colors to make stitching this design more affordable.  However, it is very important to keep in mind that Dinky-Dyes Silks are variegated in color, some more than others.

Fabric: Stitched on 28ct Havisham (New color 2020) Cashel Linen by Picture This Plus.

Stitch Count: 196w X 196h

Design Area: 14″w X 14″h. (Purchasing a fat quarter (18″ X 26″) will work sufficiently, but will only allow 2″ of selvage on the right and left sides. The model was stitched using a fat quarter and there was plenty of selvage for framing.)
